Your French level, officially measured.
The Test de connaissance du français (TCF) is the reference French test for university admission, naturalisation, and Quebec immigration. It places you on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2. We prepare you for the version your pathway needs.
Our TCF prep program
Matched to your TCF pathway
TCF comes in versions for study, residence, and Quebec. Our preparation on Fennec360 Academy targets the version and sections your goal requires.
- Compréhension orale: listening drills across registers and accents
- Compréhension écrite: reading strategy for the multiple-choice format
- Expression écrite: structured writing for the graded tasks
- Expression orale: guided speaking practice with examiner-style prompts
- Full-length timed practice tests with CEFR-level feedback
- Guidance on the right TCF version (study, naturalisation, Quebec) and registration
Why prep with Fennec360
We know the TCF maps differently for university, naturalisation, and Quebec. We point you to the right version first, then prepare you for its exact format and the CEFR level your pathway demands.
TCF for France
Which TCF your French application takes
Each French procedure accepts one TCF version. Identify yours first, then prepare the papers it contains.
To study in France
For a first year of licence or a national school of architecture, the demande d'admission préalable (DAP) runs on the TCF DAP (the TCF tout public with the compulsory writing paper). At other levels the language test stays a required document in the Études en France file.
- Four papers: listening, language structures, reading and writing.
- DELF B2, DALF C1 and DALF C2 sit among the exemptions listed for the DAP.
- Deadlines move with each campaign, so check the official calendar before you book a session.
For residence and nationality
The TCF IRN covers integration, residence and nationality procedures: a long-term resident card, a multi-year residence permit, A1 validation in the OFII citizen pathway, and a French nationality application, where it is one of the accepted tests.
- Four compulsory papers, one hour thirty-five minutes in total, assessed up to level B2.
- The certificate stays valid for two years from the date the results are issued.
- For a French nationality application the minimum has been B2 in all four skills since 1 January 2026, and TCF Canada is accepted alongside the TCF IRN. Other procedures ask for less, and only the préfecture grants an exemption.
Where to sit it in Algeria
The Institut français d'Algérie is an approved test centre and runs the TCF tout public, the TCF DAP, the TCF IRN and the TCF Canada.
- Registration is online, and each centre opens its own sessions.
- Centres in Algiers, Annaba, Constantine, Oran and Tlemcen host the sessions.
- Watch the page of the centre nearest you for its next dates.
What we prepare with you
We start from the version your French file requires, then work its exact format: the timed multiple-choice papers, the structure expected in writing, and speaking in front of an examiner. You move forward with a clear target level and marked practice tests.
